Dartmouth’s Center for Advancing Rural Health Equity and Synergy partnered to offer a Storytelling Booth at the Rural Health Symposium, to record and share stories of rural health as a continuation of a Storytelling Training workshop from 2024 led by Murphy Barney of StoryCorps.

Rural Health Symposium: Advancing Rural Health Through Research, Policy, and Community Partnerships

GUVIST attended Dartmouth Health’s inaugural Rural Health Symposium, hosted by Dartmouth Health, Geisel School of Medicine and The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI). The symposium offered a Storytelling Booth, panels, presentations from researchers, leaders and policy makers, breakout sessions on rural health research, community engagement and political drivers of health, and a poster session, where GUVIST highlighted its work with Little Rivers Health Care and the collective impact of a Food Farmacy.

New England Rural Health Association Conference

November 2024, Groton CT

The New England Rural Health Association is a hub for all sectors of rural health in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont to receive technical assistance, consulting, research and community engagement support, and much more. 

Their annual conference brings together rural healthcare professionals from hospitals, clinics, oral health, behavioral health, human services, higher education, advocates, community leaders and stakeholders, sharing research, grant opportunities and learnings and best practices. The 2024 conference theme was Promoting Sustainability. Stay tuned for the 2025 conference on Rural Health in a Changing World.
